Meet Grace
Founder of Cradled by Grace, passionate birth educator, doula & your own personal geeky foodie – I am so happy you’re here.
I provide a no fluff evidence-based, woman-centred 121 service to couples, so that whatever stage you book on with me, you will feel safe, well informed & at the very centre of your decision-making. Afterall, nobody wants better for you & your baby than you. Client reviews speak for themselves - I am here for you.
I’m here to make you feel powerful, not powerless. Not trying to figure it all out after your 36-week midwife appointment, grasping a generic induction leaflet, feeling overwhelmed & already exhausted.
Consider me your birth bestie, I’ve got your back.

I know first-hand that, becoming a mum is the most significant physical and psychological change any woman can go through. It’s totally lifechanging, whether you do this once, twice, or more times.
Cradled exists because this is what I needed when I was pregnant & gave birth for the first time in 2021. I noticed in my own experience that I didn’t know who or where to turn to for support. I had a fab community midwife (shout out to Marie) but the continuity of antenatal care during my pregnancy ended at 37-weeks and from then on, during and after the birth of my first son, Bobby, I never saw the same healthcare professional twice.
The way birth was spoken about in society made me question my own ability to birth my baby safely, not to mention the horror stories I’d hear from friends & family (or even strangers!). When I’d had my baby, I thought that ‘bouncing back’ was the thing to do, ignoring all my instincts to give my body a break & focus on the most important things; recovery & bonding with my new baby. I will never get that time back.
Given my 2 very different birth experiences (you guessed it, the first was pretty traumatic, the second was incredibly healing), I had this new passion in me to support women, that saw me training to become a birth doula, antenatal educator and build my own business that would benefit couples all through the journey from bump to baby. Cradled by Grace was born, quite literally, to cradle the mum.
My mission is to provide a platform so that you feel powerful and educated, have the confidence to ask (any!) questions, birth your baby your way, and start motherhood in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment. How does that birth look, you ask? Home, midwife led unit, hospital theatre? That doesn’t matter. What matters is how you felt, were you in control and did you know that everything you needed was already within you to achieve that.
I’ve been you, I see you – and I’m here to walk the whole journey with you.

Also, a nutritionist? Tell me more…

I’m also a bit of a food geek
(the fun kind, I promise)
I spent the best part of five years studying nutrition (yes, BSc MSc could go behind my name... fancy!) at university and another six working in corporate & public health settings.
Meaning? I really, really know my stuff. But here is my golden rule - good nutrition is a lifestyle, not a temporary list of restrictions & rules. Food is fuel, absolutely, but it’s also pure joy, creates amazing memories and one of the best ways to bring people together.
That said, what you put in your body has never been more important than right now. You are growing a tiny human (and maybe even breastfeeding them!). Let's make sure you both get the nutrition support you deserve, without losing the joy of eating.
As an experienced nutritionist, pregnant mums have come to me wanting to improve their diet (& lifestyle!) to best support them & their growing babies
(I LOVE how proactive this is!).
Why? Because we have an abundance of scientific research which shows that women who are fully in their health (not calorie!) conscious eating era before & during pregnancy have fewer pregnancy complications & adverse child health outcomes. *Mic drop*

The past that shaped my present
Previously I worked as a nutritionist within the private catering sector… think schools and hospitals, primarily providing nutritionally compliant menus & safe meal plans for children and adults with medical conditions and food allergies.
Then I got pregnant & everything changed.
My priorities shifted.
The corporate hustle used to be my definition of success - climbing the ladder, sacrificing my boundaries and driving cross-country for a single meeting because ‘that’s just what you do’. But the moment I started growing a tiny human, that entire mindset felt wrong and displaced.
A year after having Bobby (my first baby) I worked within the public sector, supporting adults one to one and in group clinics, delivering 12-week weight management programmes full of practical tips and behaviour change approaches.
I knew I enjoyed working with adults, particularly women. I loved teaching because nothing is more rewarding than seeing the positive lasting changes people make when they take active responsibility for their own lives.
But I knew it wasn’t enough for me – I still couldn’t stop thinking about my birth(s) & how they transformative they were. Why my 2 birth experiences felt so distinctly different. How birth could feel if you did the work & had the right support around you.
I was so invested in my friends when they got pregnant & had babies. The friend I was messaging at 2am asking ‘how are the nipples feeling? Have you tried using this?’ The tentative ‘how did your birth go?’ and ‘do you want to talk about it?’.
Yeah, I was casually obsessed. Then I began the deep work. The podcasts, the deep dive into research, understanding UK birth rights. I was all in.
And I did wonder about training as a midwife. But for some reason (unbeknownst to me then), it didn’t quite sit right. I knew I didn’t want to work IN the system - I wanted to work with women. Directly. One to one. Consistently. Offering continuity. Speaking up for HER. I knew even back then that I couldn’t do that as a midwife today.
Similar to my nutrition work in a way - I never wanted to work as a dietician within a clinical setting like a hospital. I wanted to be IN the community, making a difference & shaping decisions BEFORE the need for a hospital or a cure.
I guess that’s what’s led me to this – to you, whoever is reading this right now.
I have a wealth of life, birth & nutrition experience to share with you – let’s get into it!
